A platform promoting integration among researchers working with Melastomataceae around the world. This virtual seminar aims to share knowledge and promote collaborations to improve the quality of the research. This initiative relies on low environmental impact and accessibility.

Melastomataceae

Melastomataceae are a monophyletic group recognized by plants with acrodromous leaves, bisexual, radial and diplostemonous flowers with well-developed hypanthia and stamens with enlarged and usually appendaged connectives. The family comprises about 3,000 species in the Neotropics, 240 in Africa, 230 in Madagascar and around 1,000 in Asia. Its species are abundant and ecologically important with several of them horticulturally important.
